Pink Saturdayyy

I'm joining Pink Saturday at  How Sweet The Sound and sharing my favorite pinks.

I went shopping yesterday and found the most adorable bed for my chihuahua's.  They love to snuggle up together and have an afternoon nap.

Aqua Tablescape

I have been collecting several aqua color pieces over the past few months to go with my collection.  I have a passionate obsession for all things aqua....I love, love the color.   Every week or so I treat myself with a visit to my local thrift & vintage stores in search of the newest piece to add to my collection.  Here are a few of my favorite finds at my local vintage & thrift stores.  I hope you enjoy as much as I have.

I fell in love with the design on this vintage pitcher and the creme & aqua color.

I paid a dollar for this cute aqua colored miniature vase and filled it with some greenery and a pretty little bird.

I love this aqua colored jar with the floral design.  I purchased it at a vintage store for $1.99

I found this aqua vase at V.V. for $2.99 and paired it with these other aqua colored pieces to make this pretty set.

I found these candelabra candlesticks at my local thrift store and it was love at first sight.  I love the base design and the pretty crystals.

This pitcher is so pretty...I couldn't resist and it looks amazing on my table...and it only cost $2.99

These pink carnations are from my daughter for valentine's day!  She is a sweetheart.  They look amazing in my aqua colored pitcher.

Well that's it folks!  I hope you enjoyed my thrifty finds. I had the best time ever searching & creating   my aqua colored theme.

Shrove Tuesday/February 21/2012

What is Pancake Day?

Pancake day also known as Shrove Tuesday is the last day before the period which Christians call Lent.  It is a tradition on this day to eat pancakes.

Why are pancakes eatten on Shrove Tuesday?

Lent is the time of abstinence, a time to give things up. So Shrove Tuesday is the last day to indulge and use up the foods that are not allowed during Lent.  Pancakes are eatten because they contain fat, butter, eggs which were forbidden during Lent.

When is Shrove Tuesday(Pancake Day)?

Shrove Tuesday is celebrated the day before Ash Wednesday and is therefore the final day before the commencement of Lent, a Christian Festival leading up to Easter Sunday.
